LSThe Shifting Sands
VS.
The Lord of the Rings

Mystical Beings, Far Away Lands, and Monstrous Beasts...
The Lord of the Rings trilogy introduced us to these so long ago when J.R.R. Tolkien wrote this wonderful series.
The Shifting Sands is full of adventure in a way that reminds the reader of Tolkien's masterpieces. Layne West adds eroticism to the powerful warriors of his novel to give it that perfect stimulating touch. He has introduced monstrous beasts that prey on men's reproductive systems and warriors that can't seem to keep their distance from each other. The never-ending battle for power and love that West places the reader in makes you feel like you're in the story yourself.
The way that readers voted for Frodo to make it through his journey to destroy the powerful ring is just as strong as the hope for Aaron to overcome the sex-starved monster Vampressa. Both Frodo and Aaron face many 'evil' temtations along the path to do the right thing.
Being within the far away world of "The Shifting Sands" is going to captivate readers as much as it did to be in Middle Earth(in the books or the movies). This time, however, it's a bedtime story not for the kids, but for the mature audiences!
